Shantanu is the CEO of Social Finance India (SFI), a catalytic impact investment intermediary that designs funding and programs for improved social outcomes at scale in India. Prior to that he spent three decades in corporations like Genpact, GE, Unilever and PwC in global business and functional leadership roles.
In 2019 Shantanu decided to move from the corporate sector to the social sector. He is an active angel investor and continues to mentor multiple social organisations in areas like education, gender equality and rural entrepreneurship, in addition to his role at SFI.
Warren Buffet in his note explaining his reason for the pledge made the point that it’s a relatively easy decision to give money which one doesn’t need, but much tougher to really commit the most precious asset of any individual, i.e time. SVP is an initiative that provides the platform to do so. My experience in mentoring Udayan Care has been very rewarding and I look forward to SVP becoming a really scalable platform for lots of like-minded people.
