Rita grew up in Boston and moved to Pune 30 years ago. As a nutritionist and freelance health writer, she writes about the dangers of processed foods and obesity and has authored “What’s for Lunch” a book to urge people to eat out less and cook more at home.
Rita volunteers at a local cancer clinic giving nutrition advice to patients. Her next soon-to-be-published book is about using our Indian wisdom and local tools to combat cancer best and mitigate the side effects of treatment.
Rita is passionate about yoga and loves to read and entertain. She and her husband Ranjit have two children – Saya and Nishant.
