Rajat and Achala Kumar

Achala worked with the Tata Group for over 26 years, starting at Tata Steel and later moving to Tata Sons in Delhi. She then joined Vodafone in 2013, where she held various roles, including Vice President and National Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs. In 2017, she retired voluntarily. Besides her professional achievements, Achala is a fitness enthusiast, running a yoga studio in Hyderabad, and enjoys activities like golf, swimming, music, and travel. She is also an alumna of Columbia University, graduating cum laude with a major in Economics. Dr. Rajat Kumar is a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service, currently serving as the Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Irrigation & Command Area Development and, Environment, Science & Technology Department. With extensive experience in policy-making and implementation, he has worked in various positions for both state and central governments in India.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and International Development from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Economics from Osmania University. Dr. Kumar has received prestigious awards, including the Asia Pacific Environmental Fellowship and the Joint Japan World Bank Fellowship. He is an avid traveler, having visited over 30 countries, and enjoys playing golf, hiking, and reading in his spare time.
