Praveen Kumar

Praveen started his career in Technology consulting & sales and subsequently worked at a number of leading global financial institutions. Currently, Praveen is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Barclays Global Service Centre India. Praveen has been at Barclays since 2018, leading teams based out of Noida, Pune, Chennai and Mumbai, that support the Bank across Technology, Operations & Corporate Functions.

Prior to Barclays, Praveen was at JP Morgan Chase as the Chief Information Officer. With more than two decades of banking experience, Praveen has led technology teams at several large financial institutions, including ANZ, RBS, and UBS and services firms such as Infosys and Accenture. Having graduated from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Praveen holds a Master of Science degree from Old Dominion University, Virginia and a Ph.D in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK.

Praveen is a strong advocate of diversity at work and has sponsored many innovative talent programmes aimed at empowering women with new technical know-how, sharpening leadership skills and driving inclusion. He also actively mentors aspiring talent by providing strategic guidance and insights from his own career journey. Praveen believes “having an entrepreneurial mindset, challenging status-quo, and delivering through collaboration are key to have a successful career.

Outside of work, Praveen is an active participant in industry forums. He is a Technology enthusiast and is passionate about unleashing the potential of technology to transform lives. He is an early stage investor in a few Tech start-ups. Praveen has joined SVP to help Delhi based NGOs to scale-up by providing his expertise in strategic planning, governance & Technology.
