Parul Mehta is a well-known entrepreneur, social worker, and art connoisseur, in Pune and western India. She is a graduate of Commerce from Poddar College, Mumbai University, and has completed several note-worthy courses from widely recognized institutions like Nirmala Niketan. She has also passed a B.A. in Sitar from Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad.
She has established several organizations from the social to corporate to those caring for the underprivileged in society. She is a Director on the Board of Deepak Fertilizers And Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (DFPCL), and has been a key force behind the Company’s retail venture Ishanya, one of India’s largest destination malls.
She is a member of the advisory board of the Service-Learning Centre of Symbiosis International University and is closely associated with the university authorities in contributing to the field of quality education. The Ishanya Foundation, where she holds the position of a Founder-Trustee, is recognized as one of Western India’s best-run social organizations. She has been organizing the annual Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair that brings various NGOs / SHGs under one umbrella to showcase and sell their products and orient the public about their work for a noble cause. She has spearheaded the art and culture initiatives of Ishanya as Director of the Ishanya Art and Culture Club (IACC).
The Ishanya laser and waterworks show, the first of its kind in this part of the world, is her brainchild. She has led the creative processes for the show, which has been produced by Tara W. Smith of London and LSE of Belgium. She also started Pune’s first art gallery called Tilting Art Gallery and has organized the Surabhi Nag Pune Art Festival, which featured a hundred artists. She has been a Founder member of the Shaniwarwada Dance festival.
