Madhur Deep is a seasoned investment strategist and digital commerce leader with over 15 years of experience in venture capital, corporate strategy, and business transformation. As Executive Vice President – Alibaba International Digital Commerce, he has led $1.7 billion in tech investments across India and the Middle East, achieving a 44% IRR and 7.4x MOIC, with key investments in Paytm, BigBasket, XpressBees, and Trendyol. Previously, he served as Chief Business Officer at Lazada Vietnam, managing P&L across marketplace, retail, and cross-border segments. Before Alibaba, he was Head of Strategy & Investments (India & MENA), leading multi-billion-dollar investments and serving as a Board Observer for Paytm, BigBasket, and XpressBees.
His earlier career includes consulting roles at McKinsey & Company and Monitor Deloitte, advising CXOs in technology, media, and IT sectors. He holds an MBA in Finance & Strategy from IIM Bangalore and a Master’s in Business from HEC Paris, and has contributed to industry discussions as a member of CII’s National Committee for E-commerce (2017–2021).
