Karuna Rao

Karuna Mahankali is a humanitarian who has been serving the social sector for more than 15 years. After graduating with an engineering degree from Osmania University, she spent a decade as a Senior Design Specialist at Tata Consulting Engineers in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. She volunteered with an organization promoting healthcare literacy and later transitioned to teaching digital literacy skills to neurodiverse children. After relocating to Hyderabad, she joined SVP in October 2022, where she has been a Lead Partner for 3 NGOs, most prominently Digital Equity, and also serves as a member of the Grants Committee.
“SVP’s collaborative spirit reinforces my belief that passion combined with collaborative effort creates a lasting impact. It is very heart warming to witness young people lead organizations to drive a positive change in society,” she says.
Karuna and MSR, a seasoned IT entrepreneur, are blessed with two lovely daughters, Divya and Sriya, and a granddaughter, Ahana. Outside of her work, she enjoys reading spiritual texts, diving into astrology, and container gardening.
