SVP funded the College Connect Program of Youth4Jobs for two consecutive years. College Connect works for the skilling and placement of graduates with disabilities. Under SVP’s guidance and support, Youth4Jobs could secure jobs for 63% of the candidates for an average salary of Rs. 3.42 LPA. Youth4Jobs has catered to 8 different disabilities and secured jobs for candidates in Banks, IT, ITES, and Manufacturing sectors, in different roles at the right levels and for good salaries.
Carol is a 30-year-old postgraduate from Mangalore with multiple disabilities. At the age of 10, she lost hearing in one year, followed by sight loss in one of her eyes in young adulthood. After losing the ability of two main sensory organs, Carol decided to learn to get around her current situation. During this time, she met with the Youth4Jobs team and was helped to understand the use of assistive devices. By the time she was ready to work for her living, she was supported with many job opportunities by Y4J and got placed in TVS Motors as a Costing executive. Carol takes pride in finding a job in a prestigious company.
