Know How Foundation (KNF) INORA is a Pune based NGO Working in Organic Agriculture, Urban Gardening, Farming and Waste Management.
KNF works on UPCYCLING waste plastic bags and multilayered plastic wrappers. The process of upcycling is helping revive the traditional craft of weaving since there is a use of Charkha (spindle as you may call it) and a Handloom, which are traditional equipment for weaving that do not use any electricity or heat or chemicals. Thus making the upcycling process itself SUSTAINABLE. Inturn, these equipment use manual labour and thus provide LIVELIHOOD opportunities to our tribal women and youth. The UPCYCLED-HANDWOVEN products include Handbags, Totes, Purses, Home Decor and Office bags.

SVP India - Know How Foundation Partnership

SVP is supporting the setting up of manufacturing unit in Bhor, 45 kms from Pune in rural Maharashtra. The unit which will employ 14 women from the rural areas around the Centre. SVP will help market the products and also provide all strategic support required in making this unit a success.

Story of success

Resolving the issue of Waste Management, especially that of the non-biodegradable and difficult-to-recycle Waste Plastic. In addition, this initiative employs Tribal Women and Youth, to enable craft-based livelihood opportunities for them.
