There are numerous children in our country that come from disadvantaged background, these include abandoned, surrendered, and trafficked children, orphans, as well as children with families that are unable to support them. They are often placed into Child Care Institutions where they are looked after with care and given adequate supervision and guidance. 91% of these Child Care Institutions are run by nonprofits. Apart from supporting their basic physical and emotional needs, it is imperative to provide them with a happy and enriching environment. Humanity aims to leverage the existing resources to make sure that these institutions are places of nurture and rehabilitation, where children can grow to become happy and contributing members of society.

HUManity has been chosen as the implementing partner to positively impact the Child Care Institutions of Hyderabad under the aegis of SVP Hyderabad for the next 3 years. Through this collaboration, HUManity shall receive the essential funding to Digitise over 14 CCIs in Hyderabad, Operationalise the programs and capacity-building support whenever required, in a phased manner. Additionally, SVP shall conduct hands-on workshops that facilitate a holistic impact during various facets of HUManity’s Journey.
Since 11th October 2022, nearly 240 students in the six CCIs in Hyderabad, where HUManity is operating, have started receiving teaching support from 50 dedicated volunteers. The students are attending two classes a week- English and Maths. These classes are focused on strengthening their foundational basics.
Work on strengthening the basics has been deemed essential by all parties involved in the lives of these children. Children’s inability to perform well academically has been closely linked to their weak foundations. We will continually support the children on their journey toward becoming happy confident and healthy individuals.
Students are displaying growing inclination to HUManity classes and therefore studies, even in the online model, thanks to the college- going volunteers, who are proving to be a source of inspiration for these students.”
