Centre for Youth Development and Activities (CYDA) is a voluntary organization founded in 1999 that works with young people between the ages of 13 – 29 to empower them so that in turn they can contribute to improving the lives of those marginalized in society. CYDA believes in adopting a rights development approach, because of their belief that ‘youth’ are a potential force, who when mobilized in the right direction, can serve as agents of social change and transformation.

At SVP we felt that a project that works with migrant labours is the need of the hour and it was with this thought, that we commenced this engagement with CYDA and took on this pilot of re-skilling and placing the migrants and also helping them get registered under various Govt. of India schemes . Another first for us, but it has been a little over nine months and the learning has been phenomenal and working with this team is a joy. In a short span of 9 months we have been able to undertake a survey of over 3000 migrants in and around Pune city and register over 150 migrants under various schemes despite the situation.
