Vision / Mission

Vision & Mission: Umoya Sports, an initiative under Delhi-based non-profit, ‘The Umoya Foundation’, works towards empowering children and individuals with and without Disabilities enabling them to lead an enriched life by equipping them with life skills such as teamwork, confidence, critical thinking; providing physical and mental wellbeing; and building an ‘Inclusive Culture’

Umoya is at a very exciting juncture in our journey, through our collaboration with Pratham we are reaching out to children with disabilities in rural areas of MP and Mumbai. We have partnered with Modern School, New Delhi to launch one-of-a-kind inclusive sports and life-skills academy for children with disabilities.
Playful 😊 – Play is so integral in our work and so is for each and every team member, guess we all are child-like and still love to play
I have always been a passionate sportsperson, but due to a sports injury I was bed ridden for a very long time. That experience opened my understanding to challenges faced by PwD on a daily basis and it bothered me that there were almost no opportunities for sports.

2. Pick one word to describe your organisation and explain why you chose that word.

Playful 😊 – Play is so integral in our work and so is for each and every team member, guess we all are child-like and still love to play

3. Now on a personal note, what led you to work in this field?

I have always been a passionate sportsperson, but due to a sports injury I was bed ridden for a very long time. That experience opened my understanding to challenges faced by PwD on a daily basis and it bothered me that there were almost no opportunities for sports.
