Smeeta has ~20 years of experience in advisory, data, analytics, and program management in Financial Services,with a focus on Financial Inclusion; experience with leading banks, MFIs, NBFCs, credit card issuers, and pensionproviders. She has led and managed diverse and global teams while working in India, USA, UK and Norway.In her last corporate role, she led Data Science and Analytics at Transunion CIBIL. She built credit scores andother products for consumer, commercial & MFI credit bureaus. She also led policy research and industry insightsworking with Government ministries, and other industry partners7. Between 2017-2020, she worked with Upay, an NGO providing supplemental education to students in slums withweekend classes.Between 2023-2024, she worked with Pinbox Inclusion as a Programme director and Global lead for Genderinitiatives and head of data. She launched Gift-a-Pension – A program that encourages people to open andcontribute towards pension accounts of their domestic workers. She partnered with BRAC Microfinance inBangladesh to educate and enable their 4+ million women customers to save for old age.She is a contributing author to “Templatizing microPensions for Africa”, an Africa book project where 35+regulators, policy makers and experts from the Continent share their views.Between 2024-2025, she worked with Samhita social ventures as Director – Measurements, Products and Analytics.She developed and managed financial products like Returnable Grants, Credit Guarantee backed loans, publicgoods such as a “Pre-Credit Score” using alternative credit scoring framework for assessing creditworthiness.
