Vamsee Modugula

Vamsee is an expert in Transportation Planning and Travel Demand Modeling with over 28 years of experience. She currently works part-time as the Director of Travel Forecasting at TJKM in California. After spending over a decade with various consulting firms in the US, she moved back to India and worked as a freelance consultant on projects spanning India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Turkey, and the US. She holds a degree from the University of Massachusetts.
More recently, she co-founded AlfaXbatt Pvt Limited, a deeptech firm developing high-performance batteries. She is deeply engaged in the challenges of building a startup from the ground up, from raising capital to establishing operations.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Vamsee is an avid reader drawn to historic nonfiction and personal memoirs. Travel is central to her life, particularly month long mother-daughter expeditions during school holidays that combine their shared passions for reading, museums, and culinary exploration. These journeys often focus on historic sites, wildlife experiences, birdwatching, and conservation initiatives, reflecting her deep connection to nature. Her daughter Varsha, currently in 9th grade, shares her commitment to engaged philanthropy and is the only young person who attends all SVP chapter meetings. Vamsee actively supports various nonprofits in road safety, health, and women’s empowerment.
