Just like the fabled Stonesoup story, where the entire village contributed to the making of a healthy soup, we hope to realise the dream of a zero-waste world by getting every citizen to contribute by making a sustainable choice. Most people want to do the right thing, when it is convenient. We want to make sustainable living an easy choice for the majority.

SVP has worked with Stonesoup on two projects, providing support on product innovation, testing, design and access to funding. One initiative created livelihoods for rural women in Karnataka by equipping them to make cloth sanitary pads. In addition to creating products for their own use, awareness and community cleanup, they were plugged into the Stonesoup supply chain. This model has been scaled substantially and Stonesoup pads are available now on Amazon, Health and Glow and other e-commerce platforms. This provides a very high impact, low-cost model with sustainable returns for the women being trained.
A second initiative is solid waste management in aid of greening Bangalore. Stonesoup works closely with the government and administration through SVP. Both were new models that subsequently, with SVP support, attracted funders, partners and have since scaled significantly to other cities across India.
